That Volga is cool, but stretches the limits of admissibility. The swap is fine and would just place it in our performance category. But, I believe these were the cars of the power elite - the equivalent of showing up in a black '61 Lincoln. I leave the matter our Easter Bloc Bureau Chief for final ruling.

The concept is sort of interesting, but straight retro tributes like this don't really do that much for me personally.

Yep - this would be a deathtrap today, but keep in mind, if most cars on the road were similar...

I find it interesting that Auto Makes keep adding more and more airbags in the name of safety, yet make said cars much faster, more powerful, and significantly heavier at the same time...Hmmm...

hey, as long as Al documented it all on Youtube, it would be fun to watch him try. he may be a big Norwegian but he's no match for, what, 14,000,000 ladas produced over the last 50 years? they're still available new. he'd tire out before we had to ban him. heck, how many e21s has Nate killed and we still hang around with him.

plus, Ladas are nearly indestructable - they'll be the first cars the mutant cockroaches get running again after the apocalypse. if you want a Volga that badly i expect you can get one without resorting to such drastic measures.

i actually like those first few volgas, and think it's great they built that first model right up into the 80s. i just think that the top of the line luxo-cruiser from any manufacturer isn't really an OBRC car.
