How is this legally imported into Canada? I don't see it meeting current safety standards somehow.

The guys on ladausa.net would be all over this. Sure I see the potential for Lada die-hards but for almost $12k I'd look elsewhere, say that rally prepped Fiat 124 in California on BAT a while back.

To be devils advocate...if it is a brand new car, then it's pretty much this or a Yaris.

Although no warranty, parts are no problem, and it would be by far the cheapest real 4x4 you could buy new...and cooler than most...

It makes no sense as a project car, but as a fun working machine...

Excellent! One more member and we'll be able to fill up that medium sized parking lot for our first meet. Good luck with the purchase and keep us posted. If you get any more photos and backstory post it up.

Too bad I have to wait until the fall to upgrade my contribution to the membership garage. Your GF will have the flagship OCAC car and I'll have the poor cousin.
