I didn't even know these came as wagons. It's in Portland and looks to be in decent summer DD condition. Since my wife has expressed past interest in these I may risk running this one by her. If I don't show at the next few meats you'll know it didn't go so well.

1971 Saab 95 (Posted 1/22/2010)

Color: Blue Trans: Manual Mileage: 97,000 Price: $3200
I am reluctantly selling my 1971 Saab wagon. First of all this car runs and drives great. The highlight of the car, truly is the engine - it runs like a dream! It is a high compression 1700 with a double barrel intake and new Weber carb. The top end has been rebuilt and the bottom end was rebuilt about a year ago, the heads were gone through at Dan Halls here in Portland and hardened seats were added (done about six months ago). Most of the engine work was done by Garth or Tom at A&T in Portland. Medal timing gears, high flow oil pump, slight exhaust porting.... and the list goes on. The car has new SS break lines, SS clutch hose, new clutch slave, new rear shocks, Saab 900 Alt, new battery, high flow electric cooling fan run off a thermostat. The axles were just gone through, regreased and new boots added where needed. It has a set of studded Nokia's and another set of all seasons on separate rims. This is a get in it and drive anywhere car. I drive the car everyday around town and I drive it up to Mt. Hood once or twice a week to go snowboarding. You really must drive the car to really appreciate what has been done. The paint is worn, but the car is solid and pretty straight.

For some reason my wife didn't jump at this. Looks to be in remarkably good shape. Even a half decent paint job would have this looking great. For some reason though, I can't picture myself driving this one without kids chasing me asking for icecream everywhere I go.

Nah, she's humoured me for 20 years already so knows there will be much more humouring to come. She just wants home renovations and rec property. Crazy talk. I just need to make sure the rec property is big enough to support a 6 car garage and shop building, and close enough to the lower mainland so that I can access it easily. Muahahahaha...
