It's a 1990 240 in nice shape.
Drove the 945 around today and uh... Well everything is wrong. Turbo, steering rack, etc etc. Ugh. Now I remember why I parked it last year.
So this was a local one owner car. It's got a few little problems and it's 10k kilometres past the recommended timing belt interval (non-interference motor) & has a weak alternator (lights dim and flicker!), and has new tires. ECU was replaced with a new OEM one too. Scattered and spotty service records... But it's a good honest car and it will be a great car while I decide what I want to do next with vehicles...
Anyway no pics. I only finalized the sale in the Early evening hours and it was a bit dark.
Cosmetically it's close to perfect and WILL be when we cut polish it.
Anyway. I'm sorta excited. It's a nice car!

Let me give her a wash quick tomorrow. I want to do that anyway to get a clear picture of what I'm dealing with before I give it a cut polish.

Congrats. +1 on the pics. Anything salvageable on the wagon?

unwashed or cleaned.
Quick wash and a thorough interior cleaning and it looks good. Claybar tomorrow and maaaaybe polishing. That really needs to be done in a garage though... Claybar will make for a looooooong day tomorrow. Craploads of fallout and road grime and etc... Garage kept cars don't necessarily = regularly washed.
The wagon is fine. Just the turbo seals are all dead & the steering rack is puking and leaving trails. At least I can find my way home! I have a rebuilt rack waiting. Tuesday it goes in. Maybe wednesday. And then I need to re-solder the circuit board to make the speedo work again.

Began to really detail it yesterday.
Okay so the interior we did did a good job. Smells like new car/freshy cleanness as opposed to y'know, old Volvo and even older old men. We bought the car off a couple named Peter & Milan, two Czech ex-pats who were both on the title of the car... And were always joined at the hip... But I doubt they'd recognize the car
now!
We clay bared the car. There was lots of little spots where it was orange dirt that almost looked like rust as well as bugs, tar, etc... And of course being a white car even after the basic wash it was still sorta greyish fallout in the paint.
I needed a claybar so this time I grabbed turtle wax ice brand. It was the cheapest kit I could find and at $25 included one 100g bar, claybar lubricant, & a bottle of prep stuff which is like a clay liquid.
Used the liquid and it did a great job, lots of effort required though. It was a good first prep step, especially on this car.
Then we clayed the hood and right front fender so my friend Stuart could go at it with the polish and I worked on the fenders and doors which as you can imagine were in desperate need of attention!
Unfortunately I didn't take before shots and there won't be after shots until we are finished (so far only everything forward of the doors is done and finished) but it looks like brand new! Doesn't show it's age & mileage what so ever! I knew the body was arrow straght when I bought it but I couldn't imagine the paint would turn out so perfect!
Anyway. First time claying and really polishing one of my cars. It's fun!
